THIS IS THE NEW 2025 FORMAT CLASS for Concealed Handgun Permits!
The Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) or “Colorado CCW” Safety course is intended for those who wish to obtain a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit “CCW” in the state of Colorado. This is a basic to intermediate course.
The Colorado CHP course consists of 4 hours of classroom training as well as 4 hours of range training in a safe and controlled environment. You will be required to pass a written test as well as a range qualification to complete the training.
- This course meets the requirements on CRS 18-12-202.5
- Completion of this course does not grant ability to carry concealed, you must submit application to the Sheriffs Office in your County of residence.
- Written and Range qualification are required
- Students should supply their own firearm, KTG only has limited firearms available to loan for a small fee.
- 150 Rounds of ammunition are required to complete this course. We do have ammo at the store if needed.
Students must bring a PROPER fitting holster for their firearm.

- Firearm Safety
- Safe and responsible firearm ownership
- Colorado State law pertaining to firearms, firearm purchases, possession, use of force and concealed carry
- Shoot / No Shoot scenarios
- Situation Awareness
- Physiological and Psychological Effects of a threat encounter
- Handgun types, operation, maintenance and safe storage
- Handgun ammunition types and firearm selection
- Marksmanship fundamentals and defensive shooting
